2020 = The year and/or the vision.

Nexus = Connection, link, and intersection.

I have a Masters in Elementary Education with a specialization in Ed Tech from The Colorado College.

My B.A. is in Communications from the University of Colorado.

Although I have taught many subjects from K to 8, but right now I teach Computers electives to 11- to 14-year-olds. I’m frequently a deliberate or de facto technology coach among my peers. (Translated: I’m the only geek among them.) I find the job exhilarating, exhausting, exciting and sometimes even existential: it’s middle school! Though I’m grateful to have such a fun job, it’s a position that shouldn’t exist in the 21st Century. Tech should NEVER be a separate curriculum–it should be embedded in instruction like every other teaching tool. That’s my philosophy and I’m sticking to it.

In my former life before teaching I was a paralegal and co-owned an audio/video production business for continuing education programs. I’ve also been a catering sous-chef, a landlord, a competitive swimmer, a Girl Scout leader, an amateur ballerina, and a temporary secretary.

In my future life I hope to teach overseas and/or serve as a trainer at a school district or corporate level. I hope to be a much better blogger, too!

I live in beautiful Colorado in the United States. Interests: teaching, my son and his wife, traveling, mentoring, coaching, professional development, amateur web design, green/eco / small houses, reading, blogs, cooking, learning Italian, cycling, weight training, gadgets, dancing, health & fitness, podiobooks and podcasts, science fiction, personal and spiritual growth, coffee, gardening, and of course, spending as much time as possible with family and friends instead of living in front of this screen.

Short answer = I enjoy all things geeky, teachy, or gadget-related.
